ACTION ALERT #5 - posted 03.15.20
This past Wednesday, a hearing was held in a Senate subcommittee that ended up with both ERA Joint Resolutions voted out to the full Judiciary Committee. We've received notice that a hearing will be held by the Judiciary Committee this coming week.
Joint Resolution S.918 will be heard by the full Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, March 17, at 11:00 a.m. (To view the agenda, click here.)
If you need to look-up your Senator, click here.
To check to see if your Senator is on the Judiciary Committee, click here. If they are, please call their Columbia office Monday morning and leave a message that you support S.918. They need to know their constituents are aware of the resolution to support equal rights.
If your Senator is not on the committee, check the full Senate list. Call them and tell them you support equal rights and resolution S.918, and look forward to their vote in support when the resolution reaches the full Senate floor.
P.S. 3/15/20 ... There is also a "send your message" link on each Senator's contact page. That allows you to send an email directly to them. I just sent one to my Senator and I'll follow it up with a phone call tomorrow. Here's my message:
Senator Campsen,
Please support S.918 - ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment - in this Tuesday's Judiciary Committee hearing. It is so important that ALL SC citizens have equal protection under law.
See you Tuesday!
