FROM: Ed Sutton, Candidate for SC House District 114
SUBJECT: Ed Sutton Support for Ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment
Constituents of South Carolina House District 114,

As candidate for SC House District 114, I am writing to inform constituents of District 114 as
well as current legislators that upon election, I will support the ratification of the Equal Rights
Amendment (ERA).
The ERA states, “Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the
United States or by any State on account of sex.”
I strongly believe that while the ERA won’t fix everything that hinders gender equality, it will
act as a safeguard to sliding even further backwards.
It is imperative that the state of South Carolina take this opportunity to show leadership and
push us over the top and help move our country forward.
As a US citizen and Air Force Veteran, I have always fought for gender equality, and if elected,
I will represent ALL constituents equally.
The time to act is long over-due and must be a priority in the SC House. I am ready to serve
District 114 and take up the fight for ERA.
Sincerely,
Ed Sutton
