Blacks and women were both treated as second-class citizens in the Constitution ratified in 1789; the 14th amendment (and the other Reconstruction Amendments) righted that wrong for the former, and it is past time the ERA did so for the latter.”

The Equal Rights amendment is just 24 simple words. No money needs allocation; no language needs reconciliation. Just an up or down vote for equality.
South Carolina, a state with a history of inequality, could join fellow Southern State Virginia in giving women the same rights men have had for over 230 years.
Bipartisan Resolutions are in both the South Carolina House and Senate and a simple up or down vote is all that’s required. The time is now. Let’s get this done.
